Nobel Peace Prize Winner Receives Peace Lamp of St. Francis of Assisi
After meeting Pope Francis in Rome, Nobel Peace PrizeWinner, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos, traveled to Assisi to receive St. Francis Peace Lamp for his efforts in the reconciliation process with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).
The ceremony was held on Saturday, December 17 at 11:00 am in the Upper Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi before the recording of the 32nd Christmas Concert.
At 3:30 pm, in the Upper Basilica, Colombian President Santos gave an explanation of the historic peace agreement with FARC indicating how important the themes of brotherhood and dialogue were in the process.
PROGRAM for Saturday, December 17:
- 11:00 am: Fr. Mauro Gambetti the St. Francis Peace Lamp to the President of the Republic of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos
- 11:15 am: Recording of Annual Christmas Concert
- 3:30 pm: Colombian President Santos made a presentation of the historic peace agreement with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia.
- 5:15 hours: The Nobel Peace Prize Winner will have a Press Conference with journalists in the Sacred Convent of Assisi Press Room.
