"Cortile di Francesco " taking place --in September—will consist of four days of meetings, conferences and workshops among representatives from civil society, culture, politics and art, but also present, many men and women ready to listen and talk to each other on the theme of "journey". There will be a full program of events. Some of the participants who have already agreed to participate include: Antoine Audo, Stefano Boeri, Enzo Bianchi, Massimo Cacciari, Luciano Canfora, Lucio Caracciolo, Andrea Iacomini, Vito Mancuso, Romano Prodi and Antonio Tajani.

The Courtyard of Francis 2017 will be developed in a series of meetings to be held during the year that will chart the course to the event in September. There will be four these preparatory encounters with the following themes: art and region, communication, economics and migration. One of the novelties of the 2017 edition is that it will focus on a particular nation -- this year the nation of France.

The first stage of this process of preparation for the event in September will take place from March 30th until April 1st. Among the expected presenters to have confirmed their participation is Philippe Daverio art critic, lecturer, writer, author and political figure. Mr. Daverio will give a presentation on the enigmatic figure of the so-called “Master of Saint Francis” on Thursday, March 30th in the Lower Church of Saint Francis.

The noted critic is a true expert in the field of the dissemination of art in Italy; and he will accompany us in the world of the medieval art of the Basilica complex through his unique manner of telling the story of the great masters of the past, as well as masters of today.

The engagement is for everyone at 21.00 (9 p.m.) at the Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi
